BEGINNER'S WEAVING
Have you wanted to learn how to weave? Well now is your chance!
Taught by a group of the Guild’s most experienced weavers, the workshop is held over two days. Table looms and all weaving materials will be provided and looms can be borrowed and used for a limited time after the class.
Workshops will be held Saturday and Sunday :

3-D NEEDLE FELTING
Simply by using woolen fibre and some felting needles you can create your own three-dimensional shapes and objects. In this workshop you’ll learn some of the techniques needed to make intricate 3D fibre figures, from your favourite animal to fanciful flowers, imaginative elves and even spirit animals.
Take your needle felting to the next level with this workshop taught by Guild members Terry Irvine and Particia Landry. All supplies, including wool fibre, needles and boards will be provided, (or bring your own.)
This workshop will take place Winter of 2025/26.

CORE SPINNING & BEYOND
Spinning Art Yarn with Vicki Robinson
Vicki Robinson is returning for another fun-filled spinning workshop at the Quails Nest in Oliver. The workshop will focus on Core Spinning, likely the most useful construction for spinning art yarns. We will explore core materials, various fibre preparations and even plying to take our yarn even further. If long lock spun yarns, spirals, bubble crepes, coils, supercoils are your thing, then core spinning is for you. A colourful array of fibres will be provided.
Please bring your own wheel in good working order with a minimum of 2 bobbins. This is not a workshop for beginners, spinners should have the ability to spin one continuous thread.

JUDITH GLIBBERY is a British Columbia fibre artist with extensive experience teaching spinning in guild workshops and private settings. She has spent over 40 years enthusiastically promoting sheep and their wool to hand spinners throughout B.C. In past years, Judith has been an active sheep breeder and advocate for the Canadian Sheep Industry on a provincial and national level. She has been a frequent fleece judge and lecturer at fibre shows, sheep breeder associations and agricultural fairs throughout B.C. Her textile work has been exhibited in many venues throughout the province and she is an active member in several guilds. She remains surrounded with wool and never tires of it!

Starting with important foundations to build and develop your future spinning skills, you’ll learn how the spinning wheel actually works and begin the process of creating yarns (using sheep’s wool) that are amazing to knit, crochet or weave.
Spinning wheels will be provided or students may also bring their own wheel if it’s in good working order.
A comprehensive notebook and wool fibre are included in the fee.
You’ll learn in a relaxed and welcoming environment and, most of all, have tons of fun doing it!
