A fibre arts guild in the South Okanagan Begun in 1977, Desert Sage is proud of its almost 50 year history as a teaching guild. Workshops and classes from beginner's weaving to advanced spinning, knitting, felting and dyeing are offered through the year. |
Membership in the Guild offers many opportunities In addition to the workshops and classes, members have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in galleries and craft booths, participate in spin-ins and other activities in beautiful settings throughout the South Okanagan. |
Library and Equipment The Guild has an extensive lending library as well as subscriptions for popular weaving, spinning and knitting magazines whcih may be borrowed by members. The Guild also owns equipment that includes everything from floor looms to swifts and raddles. |
Thursday Drop-ins at the Oliver Community Hall Thursday drop-ins are fun and a great way to socialize. The hall fills with looms and spinning wheels while rug hookers, felters and knitters sit at tables, chatting and working on their projects. |
